The Court views alcohol related offences as serious offences and it is always reccomended that should you be charged with any drink driving offence that you attend the Traffic Offender Program ("TOP"). The TOP is available in most cities. For an example of what is involved see http://www.trafficoffenders.com.au/. Upon the satisfactory completion of the TOP provides the Court with some form of comfort that you are no likely of reoffending. Besides attending this course, you should also demostrate to the Court satsifactory reasons as to why you committed the offence, what you have learnt and what you are doing to ensure that it will not happen again. Finally, it is important that you provide the Court with a Charachter Reference (2 is best) always provide one from your work (if you need your car to drive).
